What is a Vedic astrology reading?

A Vedic astrology reading is an interpretation of your birth chart using Jyotish — the Indian system that reads planetary positions, the lunar nakshatras, and dasha time periods. It describes tendencies, timing and recurring patterns in plain language, and does not claim to predict fixed events.

What we look at

What the chart actually shows

Not a forecast. A map of tendencies, and a clock for when they are most active.

Your Moon and its nakshatra

In Jyotish the Moon carries the inner life — how you settle, what steadies you, what you reach for under pressure. It is where I start, and it is often the part clients recognise immediately.

The dasha you are living in

Vedic astrology divides a life into planetary periods lasting years at a time. Knowing which one you are in explains a great deal about why this stretch feels the way it does.

Houses and what they govern

Work, home, partnership, health, study, family. Which are busy in your chart, which are quiet, and what that has meant so far.

Patterns that repeat

Most people arrive describing something that has happened three or four times. The chart usually has something to say about why.

Supportive and demanding periods ahead

Not dates on a calendar. Seasons — where the next few years lean toward building, and where they lean toward consolidating.

What to do about it

Every reading ends in practical territory: what to lean into now, what to leave until later, and any remedies worth keeping.

The session

How a reading runs

Step 1

You send your birth details

Date, time and place of birth, and the question you are carrying. That is all I need to begin.

Step 2

I prepare before we speak

I calculate and study your chart in advance. You are not paying to watch me read it for the first time.

Step 3

Seventy-five minutes together

By video. A conversation, not a performance — you can interrupt, disagree, and ask me to slow down.

Step 4

A brief follow-up note of the main points and next steps

Sent within two working days, so the reading is still there when you need it in six months.

We do not predict fate. We illuminate pathways. We do not impose rules. We offer guidance.

If a reading leaves you more frightened than you arrived, it was done badly. That is not how I work.

Questions

Common questions

How is Vedic astrology different from the horoscope in a magazine?
A magazine horoscope is written for twelve groups of people. A Vedic reading is calculated from your exact birth date, time and place, and looks at the whole chart — the Moon's position, planetary periods called dashas, and house placements. It is a reading of your chart specifically, and it takes about seventy-five minutes because there is that much in it.
What if I don't know my birth time?
We can still work. Without a birth time, the rising sign and house divisions become uncertain, so I focus on what stays reliable — the Moon's nakshatra, planetary positions by sign, and the dasha sequence. I will tell you plainly which parts of the reading are firm and which are approximate.
Will you tell me when I will get married or how long I will live?
No. I do not read death, and I do not hand out fixed dates for life events. What a chart shows is a season and a tendency: a period that supports partnership, a stretch that asks for patience. I will tell you what the timing supports, and leave the deciding to you.
How long does a reading take and what do I get afterwards?
The session runs seventy-five minutes by video. Dahlia discusses the chart, timing and any optional practices with you. Afterwards she sends a brief note of the main points and next steps.
Is this reading religious?
It does not require any belief or practice on your part. Jyotish grew out of a Hindu context and I respect that origin, but the reading itself is an analysis of your chart. Clients come from every faith and from none, and the work meets each one where they are.

Bring one real question to your chart

You do not need to know anything about Jyotish beforehand. You need a question and a birth date.
